Results from public consultation on joint solution for managing cross-border capacity and oxygen issues
Background: The expected conversion of natural gas pipelines to hydrogen pipelines in both Denmark and Germany will impact the natural gas markets going forward. Energinet and Gasunie Deutschland have developed a joint solution regarding pressure adjustment and establishment of a ‘biomethane zone’ in northern Germany, which has been subject to public consultation from the 2nd of April 2025 to the 2nd of May 2025. The solution aims to ensure sufficient connection and capacity between Denmark and Germany as well as being economically efficient.
