Hannover, 28 April 2009 | Press release
On the agenda of the Gasunie Deutschland ShippersForum were the next steps of the Integrated Open Season of Gasunie Deutschland and Gas Transport Services B.V. (GTS). About 70 shippers from Germany used the opportunity to get first-hand information about the Integrated Open Season. “This first European cross border Open Season has the primary goal to implement new transport capacities in order to cope with the expected mid-term to long-term decline of indigenous continental European production of natural gas”, Gasunie Deutschland CEO Jens Schumann explained in his initial statement. “We are observing a great interest in an additional extension of transport capacity – both in the transit sector as well as in the integration of new gas storages. Provided that the regulatory framework allows an efficient extension of the grid, we as an independent TSO will offer the market attractive and reliable solutions”, Schumann added.
On the ShippersForum the details of the Integrated Open Season were presented. Furthermore the representatives of other TSOs and SSOs informed the market about the schedules of their own planned Open Season and marketing processes, which are timely aligned with the Integrated Open Season. The Danish TSO Energienet.dk participated as well as the SSOs Storengy Deutschland GmbH and EWE Aktiengesellschaft, which are currently initiating the marketing of new storage projects in the Northwest German area.
Gasunie Deutschland and GTS have recently started the website www.integratedopenseason.com for the Integrated Open Season, where interested market parties will find the presentations from the Gasunie ShippersForum.
