Hannover, 03 September 2009 | Press release
From 5 until 13 September 2009 the IdeenExpo takes place at Hanover’s fair ground. Gasunie Deutschland will be present. At the stall there will be something on display which normally is not visible: the Gasunie Energy-Highway under ground. Visitors of IdeenExpo will see here exhibits dealing with transportation of natural gas. But they can not only view them, but also touch and test them.
The event, which was initialised by Minister President Christian Wulff of Lower Saxony, follows the aim to convey the meaning of technics and engineering to young people. “Since Gasunie is in the search of excellent manpower supply, we support the idea very much to give young people an idea about how interesting natural sciences and technics are,” says Gasunie Deutschland Managing Director Jens Schumann. “For us as independent German-Dutch gas infrastructure company which is deeply rooted in Lower Saxony this event is the perfect platform to present the technologies and ideas we use in our daily business”.
In the “Pavilion of Ideas” measuring 23,000 square metres various companies, schools and institutions present living technics. The IdeenExpo aims at young people between ten and 22 years. About 350 exhibits can be studied. Gasunie provides an ultrasonic gas measurement unit, pigs for cleaning and inspecting networks as well as a piece of a pipeline and an armature. On display is also the model of a compressor station.
