Aiming at the creation of the single European market for natural gas European TSOs founded ENTSOG (European Network of Transmission System Operators for gas) in 2009. ENTSOG works closely both with the European Commission and the European regulatory agency ACER. Only a reliable and safe transmission network is capable of meeting Europe's current and future needs. Therefore, enhanced cross-border access, the promotion of cross-border trading, increased interoperability of existing regional transmission systems and the development of a Europe-wide legislative framework to support the market and the security of the gas supply is requested.
An important tool is the Gas Regional Investment Plan (GRIP), which is published every two years. It is the result of close cooperation between the TSOs in the nine countries forming the North West European region, one of six regional groups. Here Gasunie as coordinator plays an important role.
Current and former GRIPs you will find on the ENTSOG website.
